Pokémon Snap Station PC
Remember the Pokémon Snap Station at Blockbuster? Back in the day, you could take your Pokémon Snap game cartridge (for the Nintendo 64) and plug it into a kiosk to print out stickers of your favorite Pokémon. Anyway, after the game’s popularity faded and they got rid of the Snap Stations, someone left the empty shell of one on our driveway as a prank. So, after my brother used it as a bookshelf for a few years, I inherited it and used it as a sweet computer case!
The computer’s original case couldn’t fit inside the Snap Station, so I mounted its components in and around a cardboard LEGO box. (Yes, a serious fire hazard! Don’t try this at home, kids!) I never got around to mounting the disk drives on the front, so you have to open the door to access them. The mouse and keyboard wires come out of holes on the front. The wires for the speakers come out of a hole on top. Two power cords are fed through the back (one for the monitor, one for the computer).
So, anyway, check out these photos (and YES, that’s a 5¼” floppy drive):
